TickerBeacon is a tool for saving stock tickers you come across while reading, along with the passage that convinced you and a personal note. This policy covers what the TickerBeacon browser extension and web app collect, how it's used, and how to remove it.
When you explicitly save a capture (via the extension's right-click menu or the web app), we store:
The extension's content script is passive — it does not read or transmit page content unless you explicitly select text and choose to save it. We don't track your general browsing activity.
Your saved tickers, passages, and notes are used to power your personal watchlist: showing price data and news for tickers you've saved (via a third-party market-data provider), resolving ticker symbols from company names, and triggering price alerts you set.
The captured passage for a mention (ticker + excerpt only — not your account email, author field, or personal note) is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a short summary and, once you have multiple mentions of the same ticker, a synthesized thesis across them. This happens automatically when you save or view a mention with AI features enabled. Anthropic processes this text to generate the response and does not use it to train their models. See Anthropic's privacy policy for how they handle API data.
Data is stored in a self-hosted Supabase (PostgreSQL) instance we operate, protected by row-level security so each account can only read its own data. We don't sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising.
TickerBeacon is currently in alpha. Data handling practices described here may evolve as the product does; material changes will be reflected on this page.
